Lipoedema (Lip-o-deema or Lype-o-deema) is a connective tissue disorder, causing reduced oxygenation and enlargement of fat cells. In around 50% of cases, it causes debilitating pain and in most cases, it causes much confusion and heartache around body image and reduced quality of life.
Lipoedema management can be understood more by listening to other people's stories. I like this video, which looks at a patient's perspective. It also gives a realistic expectation about surgery outcomes.
